The landscape design prioritises aesthetics and functionality, incorporating thoughtful planning and durable materials that blend with the natural surroundings while ensuring minimal ecological impact and harmony with the environment. It will also incorporate spaces for sports for younger members and accessible spots around the site for senior family members to be able to walk. Simultaneously it will integrate productive spaces for agriculture and food forests.

SKDO takes up a layered approach that leverages existing natural assets and constructed systems to create a cohesive landscape for a multi-generational family homestay in the heart of the Western Ghats. The design aims to incorporate elements like pollinator parks, productive ecosystems, nature-based water solutions and much more. The design will be planned to protect the existing landscapes while also tackling the risks of flood mitigation, heat island effects and construction of infrastructure and elements that can ensure the feasibility and sustainability of the structure. Further, nature-based solutions for water management during monsoon and dry seasons to prevent soil erosion and enhance the experience of the site.
